Before answering God’s call into ministry Steve worked professional theater, sold cars and waterbeds and did a variety of customer service jobs. Steve answered God’s call to ministry in 1989 and graduated from Anderson University School of Theology with a Masters of Divinity in 1992.
That same year Steve married Susan Rice of Winchester, KY. Together they moved to Jamestown, NY to pastor the Busti Church of God for 3 years. In 1995 Steve became the senior pastor at the First Church of God in Hickory, NC. Both their children, Ben and Kelly were born in the 5 years they lived in Hickory. In 2000 the family moved to Eaton, IN where Steve pastored till the fall of 2007.
Steve enjoys many diverse hobbies from gardening to bike riding. He is a fan of, NASCAR, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and the Indianapolis Colts. He spends a lot of his free time following his son in Boy Scouts and football and his daughter in her dance and music pursuits.
